On March 18, 2016, Supreme Court Justice Gilmar Mendes suspended Lula's appointment as Chief of Staff in the Dilma Rousseff administration, marking a moment of prominence for the Supreme Court in corruption cases such as the Mensalão scandal and Operation Car Wash. Seven years later, the same Supreme Court became a target of far-right Bolsonaro supporters, who invaded and vandalized the offices of the three branches of government on January 8, 2023, in protest against the results of the 2022 elections.

The podcast "What Court Is This?" investigates this transformation, analyzing how the media portrayed the Supreme Court between 2019 and 2023 and how their narratives influenced public perception of the court. With 10 episodes, the program uses data from the research "The Supreme Court in the Media: Independence, Transparency, and Accountability," as well as interviews with experts and the public, conducted by the Center for Studies in Law, Justice, and Society (Nedjus) at UFSCar.

Produced in partnership with the Institute of Scientific Culture (ICC) and with support from Rádio UFSCar and LAbI, the podcast is funded by the CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development). The research is coordinated by Professor Fabiana Luci de Oliveira of the Department of Sociology at UFSCar.
